People for Burien are a diverse group of people from North Highline and Burien who are committed to the best possible future for our communities. People for Burein support annexation of North Highline into the City of Burien. The future of North Highline is tied to our annexation, either to Burien or Seattle. Both cities have taken the first step in the annexation process by designating North Highline as a Potential Annexation Area (PAA). By supporting annexation of North Higline into the City of Burien, People for Burien is building on the future from our common past.

People for Burien believes that by annexing North Highline into the City of Burien we get greater representation. Now we are only 4 % of unincorporated King County. In Burien we will be nearly 1/3 of the city. By keeping Highline together, both visions allow us to keep our services while we continue to maintain the small town feel of our community.

King County has prepared the ballot language for the upcoming annexation vote. Registered voters in the proposed annexation area will see this measure on the August 18, 2009 mail-in ballot that they will receive in the mail. The initiative will be titled;
North Highline South Annexation Area Simple Majority (RCW 35A.14.080)
